It’s been 30 years since I hit anything larger than a small bird with a vehicle.
This stupid raccoon did a suicide run right in front of me the other morning !
This is an important driving lesson too.
My driver’s ed class in high school is the one class in my whole life that I remember most things verbatim.
We were taught that we do not swerve for animals in the road.
Yes of course there are extreme conditions that you may consider swerving to miss an animal in the road. But as a general rule, if you swerve, you are more likely to get hurt than you would hitting the animal.
My driver’s ed teacher “I have a little dog at home, but if it’s a choice between me and the dog, he’s history.”
